Home Inspection FAQs
What Is A Home Inspection?
A home inspection is a thorough visual exam of the homes structural, mechanical, interior and exterior components.
What Is Included In A Home Inspection?
The home inspection typically covers all of the homes major systems and components: Heating and Air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, structural, garage, driveway, patio, balcony, porch, walks, retaining walls, roof, chimney, gutters, siding and trim, stairs, doors, windows, floors, walls, ceilings, attic and crawl space. As you can see there are many items to a complete home inspection.
Should I Attend The Home Inspection?
InsideOut recommends the client be present at the inspection. This enables the inspector to actually show and explain the homes systems and any items that may require additional monitoring or maintenance.
Can A House Fail?
A home inspector does not pass or fail a house. The inspector describes the visible condition of the homes systems and calls out items in need of immediate attention.
Is A Home Inspection A Warranty Against Future Repairs?
No! A home inspector will never be able to predict every repair or maintenance problem. Your home inspection does not constitute an insurance policy; it gives you an idea of the condition of the home and discloses areas in need of major repair.
What Will It Cost?
A lot of factors go into the pricing of a home inspection. The age, size, components all are important. Please feel free to call or email me with questions.
